HD-TVI stands for High Definition transport video Interface, it is a form of HD Over Coax CCTV technology, which allows high quality footage transmission over traditional (RG59 or UTP CAT5 and CAT6) cabling.

High Definition (HD) Digital Video Recording (DVR) devices are starting to become more readily available, and affordable, for consumers. The DVRs offer all the functionality of a standard DVR (like TiVo) but also allow for viewing and recording of HD broadcasts.

An Internet protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera commonly employed for surveillance, and which, unlike analog closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, can send and receive data via a computer network and the Internet.

Video on a DVR is encoded and processed at the DVR, while video on an NVR is encoded and processed at the camera, then streamed to the NVR for storage or remote viewing. An NVR is a software program that records video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD memory card or other mass storage device.
